e-lab Lecturers - International Excellence
The faculty of e-lab is comprised of an international team of academics and practitioners having comprehensive expertise in emerging companies, venture capital, advanced technologies and public relations. Their experience as lecturers in both the US and Germany allows them to establish with e-lab a benchmark for entrepreneurship education in Germany.
Eric Achtmann, PolyTechnos
Eric Achtmann joined PolyTechnos from McKinsey & Company, where he consulted largely in the Product Development and Finance practices, and served as product development and defence/aerospace industry expert since 1995. From 1991 to 1994, he was involved in the founding of Petrotech Industries, a high-technology start-up, developing advanced agents for the clean-up and extinguishing of large petroleum-based spills and fires. He subsequently founded Petrotech International to develop and market these products and services throughout the Middle East. Prior to Petrotech, Eric worked with a number of engineering-related companies, including BMW, Daimler-Benz Aerospace and McDonnell-Douglas (Boeing).
An Eisenhower fellow, Eric holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, an M.S. and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He also completed aerospace studies at the Technical University of Munich.
Eric is a member of the MIT Sloan School of Management´s NPVD Advisory Board, a founding member of the MIT Entrepreneurship Society and European Representative of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. An American citizen, Eric enjoys travelling, skiing, skydiving, scuba diving, music and cooking in his free time.
Dr. Felix Brosius, KabelDeutschland
Felix Brosius hat an der Universität Hamburg als Mitarbeiter am Institut für Finanzwissenschaft über die Spieltheoretische Analyse des Internationalen Steuerwettbewerbs promoviert (2002). Anschließend war er zunächst als Spezialist für Database Marketing und später als Vorstandsassistent im Buchclub der Bertelsmann AG tätig. Seit 2005 ist er bei Kabel Deutschland im Marketing für das CRM, Database Marketing, Online Marketing und Kooperationsmarketing verantwortlich. Felix Brosius ist Autor zahlreicher Lehrbücher insbesondere zur Programmierung und statistischen Datenanalyse mit SPSS und hat mehrere Artikel zum Customer Relationship Management veröffentlicht.
Dr. Franz Erath
Dr. Franz Erath (38) was Investment Manager at Burda Digital and CEO of Xino-Media. He has been involved in the venture capital industry since 1999 when he joined Burda and contributed to building the portfolio. Prior, he worked for EADS and different law firms. He studied law at Konstanz, Lausanne and Munich, holds an L.L.M. from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
Martin Giese, KabelDeutschland
Martin Giese just assumed the position of Director Management Information at Kabel Deutschland after two years in marketing leadership roles.
He previously worked as a senior consultant at Solon Management Consulting, as a Merchant Channel Manager with Frictionless Commerce Incorporated, as a Summer Associate with McKinsey's E-Commerce Practice and as a Press Officer for the United Nations and the World Economic Forum.
Martin holds Master degrees from the MIT Sloan School of Management and from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Further he has a Law degree and a Journalism degree from Hamburg University. Martin is married and father of a little boy. He regularly teaches students at CDTM on entrepreneurial negotiation, conflict management, business modelling and planning.
Andy Goldstein, Avanquest
Mr. Goldstein is the Executive Director of the LMU Entrepreneurship Center. He was chosen for this position in 2007, and has been teaching for the Center since 2003. A seasoned international entrepreneur, Mr. Goldstein is the initial creator of the “software republishing” concept, licensing US software and localizing for the European markets. In particular, he grew his Munich-based company into a fully European firm, with offices in Germany, France, UK, Spain and Italy, before selling it in 2003 to Avanquest, a French public corporation traded on Euronext Exchange in Paris. He then joined Avanquest as a Member of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of German operations, and later became Avanquest’s Vice President Europe, a post he continues to hold today. He is also in charge of the worldwide product acquisition strategy for the Avanquest Group of companies.
Mr. Goldstein holds a B.Sc. with double major in Entrepreneurial Management and International Business from the Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
David Hoeflmayr, TeleColumbus
David Hoeflmayr just assumed the position of Vice President International at debitel. He obtained a doctor of law from Georgetown University and a bachelor of Arts in psychology as well as an MBA in the U.S. before returning to Germany to be consultant with a Munich based management consultancy and later Managing Director of an international foundation. He now holds the position of Vice President International at Debitel. Apart from providing management support, David Hoeflmayr is a lecturer at CDTM (Project Management and Business Planning).
Achim Lederle, 3i
Achim Lederle (36), Director at 3i Deutschland is heading the German Technology Team focusing on Telecommunication, Semiconductor, Automation and New Technologies. He is active in the Venture Capital industry since early 1997 when he has joined Technologieholding VC (which was merged to 3i in February 2000). Since his early days in the VC industry he has been focusing on the IT- and Telecommunication sector besides investing in mechanical engineering and opto-electronics. Besides others he was responsible for Brokat which went public in 1998 - one of the most successful IPOs on the Neuer Markt - and for the successful trade sale of Ibsen Microstructures in 2000. He has been member of several supervisory boards e.g. NXN Software, Ibsen Microstructures, SFC Smart Fuel Cell. Before he joined Technologieholding he was with Deloitte Consulting as consultant. He has worked on IT-organisation and system integration projects mainly at banks and assurance companies. Mr. Lederle holds a master degree in business administration from the University of Augsburg.
Gerhard Märtterer, i-clue interactive maertterer GmbH
Gerhard Märtterer is CEO and owner of i-clue interactive maertterer GmbH. He holds a Diploma (FH) in Marketing and Advertising from the University of applied sciences for Print, Stuttgart. Since 1984 Gerhard Märtterer was an avocational lecturer in Stuttgart. He worked at the advertising agency Wündrich-Meissen in Stuttgart and as a project manager for TC-Studios in Ludwigsburg, responsible for international Blue-Chip customers.
Since 1997 he is CEO of i-clue interactive, a specialty supplier for One-to-One Communication concepts. Märtterer founded the brand AlphaPicture in 2003, which became the world market leader in the field of Image-personalisation within three years.
Bernd Mühlfriedel, 12snap
Bernd Mühlfriedel is founder and CFO of 12snap AG. Befor his engagement at 12snap he worked as Senior Consultant at McKinsey & Company. Bernd Mühlfriedel earned a Diploma Degree in Management Science, a Master of Business Administration at University of Georgia (USA) and participated in the Chartered Finacial Analyst Progradm of CFA Institute. He is Jury member for the Northern Bavarian Businessplan Competition and since 2000 lecturing on topics in Finance/Controlling, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing & Innovation at LMU, TUM, FAZ Institute, and other educational institutions.
